Hi Peter, thanks for the detailed reply. In terms of dynamic range, I did mean volume range, as opposed to timbre range, which is what C11 would do. There are important reasons why the volume range (let's stick to that) needs to be controllable for …

To be clear, I know abut the panning and width settings in the virtual soundstage, but found it sounded better when I panned the output. I couldn't find anything about dynamic range though. Only about timbre range.

Thanks for the reply, but it is unhelpful. Perhaps you could at least point me to the page where this is discussed, as I have read the manual many times, but have yet to find the section to which you refer.

Just to add to this thread, the one solo orchestral instrument (other than solo strings) that there is no good version of is the Oboe. This is what I would like to see next. Flutes I can deal with elsewhere, although I'm sure that SM ones would be f…

Yes, put a small CC MIDI event at the start of your MIDI tracks in your template, and that will do the job for you. You can even save these tracks as a track archive, if you don't want a template. D

Thanks. That all seems to make sense to me. So assuming that I want to use 4 tracks, rather than 1, do I need to use the Ensemble solo Horns, and will they provide a different experience to using the normal 4 Horns? Does that make any sense at all? …

Yay..................! Downloading now. D

I've tried all the various options, and for me the combination of BC compression and Velocity limiting (all done with MIDI Input Transformers in Nuendo) works the best. Setting the Velocity to a fixed value didn't sound right to me. D

OK, I've given it a good testing, but it isn't subtle enough for my taste. So for me, this is still the one area where the more conventional sample libraries have a "better" legato. D

Thanks Dan. I have the USB EWI and there are 3 different fingerings; EWI, Oboe and Sax. I am attempting to use the EWI, but wondered whether or not it would be easier to learn one of the others, as getting practice material would be easier. It would…
