  • Update to the problem, though this forum may consider Sax threads moot. If “triggers” is unchecked that seems to solve the problem.
  • Incidentally, I use CC11, Mod Wheel, Pitch Bend, Reflections, attack and release. I have had no success using the formant controls. A few, but not all, of the key-switches yield results.
  • Okay, in examining the Trombone manual (though it is absent in the Trumpet manual) I see the references to formant. However what is displayed in the manual shows a bar graph-type control, while the GUI shows knobs. Do they both work the same?
  • Thanks for your response. Is there another manual other than the one available at the time (December 2016) I purchased The Trumpet?I have gone through the one I have repeatedly and find nothing that speaks to formant- no mention of the control or …
  • And for that matter, nothing but note information is in the MIDI log.
  • In checking the log, there are no notes that should not be there. However, Baritone, while playing B also sounds D above it at the same time. The B ceases as directed, while the D continues until the “noted off” box is changed ( makes no difference …
  • Are you aware of a “notes off” key switch? Sometimes, though not consistently I can create a notes off condition by entering a note outside of the playable range of the instrument. The maddening thing is, I have done about one hundred arrangement…
  • As widespread as Pro Tools is and due to its heavy professional use, it would seem that would be a priority fix. I have also played with samples and buffer sizes, to no consistent remedy. BTW, I am working at 192 KHZ sample rate.
  • The manual is what I have been following. BTW, I’m not using a keyboard. I am using direct entry into the piano roll control lanes of Pro Tools. The control codes seem to work okay for sound shaping, just not all the lisred key switches.
  • I have been attempting to re-install from iriginal dustribution CD’s but ‘install’ seems to on install Kontakt, with no other options, and even at only installs for 32 bit. I am finding no options to download other than purchase on the Sample mode…
  • Good ideas, all. Thanks.
  • To modernbard: and my manual stops at page 29. I’ll download the latest. Re reverb treatment: I do a lot of R&B in the style of Muscle Shoals-Stax-New Orleans, which is usually reverb-lite to non-existent. I want to try to stay in that vein.
  • In Trumpets, for example, I load three instances, one track in Pro Tools each. I will then select on Track 1 Trumpet 1, Track 2 trumpet 2, Track 3 trumpet 3. ( I discovered early on that two parts written on the same track cancels one out or worse.)…
  • Okay, if that's the case, what happens to the note played after that? Does it fall as well, or does the B1 keyswitch only apply to a single note at a time?
  • It appears that Native Instruments now has a new installer called Native Access that does not allow for off-line installation and activation. So I guess I have to expose the studio computer to the multitude of viruses on the internet.
  • I have, and they don't answer. Many others have raised the same questions, with equal non-response.
  • Have discovered that in Pro Tools the Expression control lane triggers CC11. Now I'm getting usable trumpet sound. Next question: Are the other important CC's triggered in some other control lanes, or are they triggered as notes above or below…
  • Well, I finally got it in to the Kontakt 5 library and activated. But I can't drag it into the multi rack ( I get the null sign) like I can with other instruments using Kontakt. What do I do now?
  • Still nothing. Also, I have found no place to respond to acceptance of terms. Kontakt is runninng, but no library is to be found browsing thru the various files. What is the file name of the library I should start with? And when I do get that runn…
