Installation

edited December 2016 in General Questions
Having just purchased Trumpet 3, I am attempting to activate it.

I am following the instruction(I think) according to the installation manual.

However, the Unzip step doesn't seem to be doing anything. It is copying the Trumpet file to a new location (not Sample modeling) but the file size is unchanged making me think it is still zipped.

Kontakt 5 has been downloaded (though I have it for other software). The unzip step seems to be working in tgat case, though I can't be sure since it was on the computer to begin with.

Upon starting Kontakt in stand-alone mode, no libraries are evident

What do I do now?

Silly Windows by default hides the file extension (e.g. ".zip") You can activate sowing same in explorer or view "file properties" where it (hopefully) is shown.

Still nothing. Also, I have found no place to respond to acceptance of terms. Kontakt is runninng, but no library is to be found browsing thru the various files. What is the file name of the library I should start with?

And when I do get that running, should I be able to then use Trumpet as a plugin via Kontakt in Pro Tools?

Sorry, I can't help you but just want to add that I have had a similar bad experience every time I have added a new SM Kontakt-based instrument. Extremely frustrating and incomprehensible to normal people, but hang in there because eventually you will get it to work. I don't think it's SM's fault but the nature of Kontakt itself. I'm so happy with the SWAM-based instruments: they install easily, have a great UI (another Kontakt nightmare), and sound better to me.

    Good luck,

Well, I finally got it in to the Kontakt 5 library and activated. But I can't drag it into the multi rack ( I get the null sign) like I can with other instruments using Kontakt.

    What do I do now?

If installed correctly, The Trumpet should be under Libraries in the browse section (left side) in Kontakt.
