Supposedly it needs a full Kontakt license, and hence the low cost for the library are not beneficial. :( Of course a Blues Harp could be a nice task for Sample Modeling :) -Michael

IMHO, the transitions between notes are totally unrealistic and much more sound like an accordion. -Michael

These instruments are all about articulation. Hence each voice would need it's own articulation control by multiple CCs to be sent to it. This is not just polyphonic, but at least MPE (a kind of multi-channel polyphonic Midi data stream). But in f…

There are Midi processor plugins that split polphonic Midi streams in way that concurrent notes are assigned to different Midi channels. I once tried this to create an pipe organ from SWAM flutes. I was not very happy with the result. But maybe it…

Do you do the mute change by neans of a Midi CC or by means of automating the appropriate DAW parameter ? If using a DAW parameter, the timing is heavily depending on the DAW (and on Kontakt). -Michael (not knowledgeable regarding Cubase)

Does Kontakt provide any support for Midi 2 ? If no. I suppose a library can't make use of such features. If yes, maybe some features might even be automatically usable without changing the library code. -Michael

Without the sound engines for a lower price it could be interesting.... -Michael
-
Even if that does not make much sense, because you will need more controls that just mid wheel, you can simply assign the mod wheel CC (CC #1) to expression in the user interface. -Michael
-
This is because the ensembles are multiple instruments that are linked. I suppose this is described in the user guide, -Michael

AFAIK the Library can't decide if or if not using DDS. This is set in Kontakt. Dropouts might be introduced by too low buffer size, too low Ram or too slow CPU. Michael (No experience with Mac at all)
-
If necessary you can use a "Midi Filter" plugin to modify the Midi Stream to the instrument. -Michael
-
You need to set the same CC# do the "breath" in the TEC and to Expression in the instrument. This might be CC11 or any other number. -Michael
-
1) Of course, technically, it makes no difference for the software how the Midi events are generated. But with these libraries, IMHO, it does not make sense to try to "design" the expression curves "manually". only using a decent…

AFAIK.: If Kontakt works, any Kontakt library should work out of the box. If not, it's a bug with Kontakt (or the OS) . -Michael
-
Is this really "automation" ? What DAW is used ? in most DAWs "Automation" is the name for direct modulation of the plugin parameters, but AFAIK, usually these parameters are driven by Midi events, and hence not by "automa…

Soundcloud reduces the file size as much as possible. AFAIK, they do a volume compression and then rather low quality MP3 (or similar lossy) bit reduction. Not very appropriate for classical music. With your files I seem to notice a rather nasty cl…

Soundcloud does some nasty things to your strings :( Could you provide the sound files with better quality ? -Michael

Pitchbend never results in a gap. -Michael
-
IMHO, "slur" legato is not a new note but a pitch bend. I feel that the strings do this nicely. -Michael

I (not very perfectly) do live playing with the solo Violin using the Seaboard. I understand that when shifting the finger pressure from one "key" to the next a nice kind of slur/fingered legato is performed. In this case the seaboard se…

I doubt that you'll ever get a realistic sounding piece of music with "manual input" with this kind of software instrument, which is all about real time modulation. If you play keyboard, I recommend trying it with a Seaboard. -Michael

I am not decently knowledgeable with neither of violin playing nor Midi composing, so just a theoretical comment. What is "legato" with a violin ? If on the same string you can slide your finger while bowing, lift a finger, press down an …

AFAIU, the question is just if the OS is compatible with Kontakt, as the SM library just sees Kontkt, and not directly the OS or the hardware. -MJichael

I tried to play the strings with a Breath controller plus keyboard. (which I very happily use for thje Trumpet and wind instruments.) IIt always sounded some kind of "blown". Of course as a keyboarder, I am not perfectly trained with my br…

IMHO it is essential to correctly match the PB range when using the Roli. Works perfectly here with the Violin. I really should try to use my SM Trumpet with BC and Roli some day... -Michael

Interesting ! In fact an "inverse Speaker" might be a good idea. Maybe the internal speaker of the EWI could be replaced by such a device. (I mean the "peakers" that can be attached to a window pane and use same as a "memba…

Something that is rather easy to do with quite standards tools and might help, is introducing a delay after each instrument (before any room/reverb) and controlling the delay zime with some humanizing (Midi) signal. If you send me some audio files,…
-
I suppose this is due to one or more CCs that are applied to multiple instruments directing their sound more in parallel than appropriate. I once did a rather complex humanization tool for such purposes. it would need some more tweaking for your ex…

"Sterile", "chords or octave or unisions it begins to sound artificial": Did you try playing it with a Seaboard ? -Michael

Velocity is a huge advantage. I always use it for legato speed. Sounds so natural ! I also always use Aftertouch for vibrato depth. This feels so natural ! I can't manage a decent Diphram vibratoi with breath, and hence AT is great ! -Michael
