Vintage Detective

Listening to the demos here is very inspiring. The really cool thing that becomes obvious, is how well users can shape their performances to make these instruments sing with such nuance. It's so gratifying to play a part, rather than paste in phrases & articulations.

I was experimenting with adding (external) saturation & compression to the Tenor sax. It made the key noise way too hot and I could have easily adjusted it...but I ended up leaving it, as it kind of grew on me. Anyway, mostly a tone test here...

Interesting tone. I am not sure what plugins you used, but you might want to try PSP Warmer, since it can make magical things to sax and vocal sound.

Voxengo Voxformer. I've been happy with the saturation part of that plugin but I overdid the compression. Fun to mess with.
