our new SWAM engine has not yet been tested on Receptor.
As far as the Kontakt-based instruments (including the saxophones) are concerned, they all have been tested by Muse Research and worked very well. To make sure whether also the latest version of Receptor will work, please ask directly Muse Research. Generally speaking, versions of Receptor playing Kontakt versions 4.2.4 or 5 are also suitable for all our Kontakt based instruments.
Still, Muse Research remains the most reliable source of information on this topic.
I am running a Receptor 2+ which has the AMD Processor and was the slowest in the latest iteration of receptors before this year. I am running Trumpet and the Sax Brothers and find that Kontakt Player 5 is giving me very good results with loading and playing these instruments. The AMD is about a 2gb processor by intel standards. I was having some issues with getting optimum resolution settings on Kontakt players three and four using multiple instances of instruments. The older kontakt players had very long load times. Because I was having little success I nearly sold this receptor. The new VIP model which is the new low end Receptor has a 3.0 GB processor so it should be even better. If you are running a version one receptor of any kind I don't think they are fast enough to handle these instruments. My receptor will run at least two instruments at a time so a faster receptor should be able to do more. My approach has been to load several instances of what I need into the mixer interface and then create snapshots that mute and unmute the instruments I want. The initial load in of patches on startup takes a little time but in performance changes are instant. Kontakt player 5 take less time here too. Hope this helps. Also, contact Muse on the KVR forum, they were very helpful with suggestions to try and want their customers to find solutions for issues like this. :geek:
