AU plugin can't find data!
I have been using the samplemodeling Mr.Sax T and Trumpet for a year or so, adding the Trombone a little later.
They have all performed without problems on my MacBook 1,1 2ghz, 2gb RAM, OSX 10.5.8 and Logic Studio 8. (I know this is not quite up to date - but why fix something that's doing the job and isn't broken!)
I used the instruments for practicing for hours yesterday - again without problems - but when I try to load a Logic project file that evening where I use the Trumpet, the plugin cannot find the files.
I try to load projects using other samplemodeling instruments with the same result. I start up a new project and try to open a samplemodeling software instrument. Same result - nothing can be found.
When I ask the plugin to search for the files it ends up finding them, but it takes a LOT of time searching through the harddrive and I have to go through the same long search for every project I open.
When opening a new plugin - and having finished the search - it seems as if the plugin loads the Trumpet v.1 instedad of v2.52
I have a gig tomorrow and really hope I won't have to go through the same slow process for 60-70 Logic projects!
It seems to me as if the samplemodeling plugin has forgotten where to look for its files but I don't know how to make it recover that info!
Grateful for any help!

if a plugin suddenly cannot find the samples, there is only one reason for that: the file structure or some names have been changed! It´s difficult to guess how it has been installed on your system, but any change of the file location or name etc. leads to the message that the plugin cannot find the samples. It´s, however, completely unclear to my why your logic tries to load the old version of The Trumpet... I wouldn´t keep the old version on the system anyway... :-) (It seems to be a Logic issue, since it stores the particular version of the instrument within the song/session).
Possible remedies for the lost samples:
1. You figure out what has been changed on your system and try to recover the previous paths or names; This would be the best option.
2. If the above fails, let the plugin find the samples first. But don´t let it scan the whole system; instead, "show" the path where the samples are stored using the "Browse for folder" option. This loads the samples extremely quickly. Then - store the instrument! (And the song). It will keep the new path stored and will load it next time immediately.
If you do not know where the library is placed, open the Kontakt browser and click on the icon right to "i" under the instrument logo, and choose the option "open containing folder". This will lead you immediately to the library content/samples.
If you feel that Kontakt Player is completely lost with the instrument paths, please contact Native Instruments which can help you to recover the correct file structure (and which provide the technical support anyway). It´s difficult to give more tips without knowing more details like, for example, which Kontakt version you are using.
Please get in touch with us via the Contact page if you experience any further problems.
