This is actually incorrect. My wind controller has three continuous controllers in the mouthpiece area alone (breath, bite and push). I'm using push to set portamento rate.

I don't claim to know but I read this some time back and found this in the Windcontroller FAQ from Patchman Music. You can draw your own conclusions about the USB version of the EWI.

Hi Bob, nice to see you here.

Just to throw a further spanner in the works  The EWI-USB doesn't have an internal (anolog) synth like the 4000s. It's purely a midi controller, which is not to say that it doesn't have a faster midi protocol that works with the aria software, which is an interesting thought.

    Regards Pete.

Ok, i did not know about the push controller

Do you mean you can really do a half-valve portamento with this controller ?

Aside from this, can you do with all the articulations offered by the keyswitch with your windcontroller ?

    Regards

I have to admit I have never heard of "push", but then I don't know all controllers, but would be interested in knowing about it and how it is implemented.

I know the WX's have 3 controllers possible via the mouthpiece, breath, and Pitch bend up and pitch bend down can be assigned seperately.

    Regards Pete.

    Hi Pete,

I'm glad to see you here too. This Sample Modeling stuff has put a little bit of the fire back.

I did notice that the USB EWI didn't have the internal synth, so I was wondering how growl through the mouthpiece was possible. But like you say maybe the Aria does it.
