Trombone installation question

edited January 2012 in General Questions
Hello-

All of my samples reside on a separate drive.

When i run the Mac Trombone installer and get to the "installation type" window, the installer has selected to install the trombone library in my "shared folder."

Do I wasn't to install it here or do I want to install it in the "Sample Modeling Folder" that I created on the dedicated samples drive?

Thank you. :)

  • Hi dnito,

you can install the library/instrument wherever you like. Since, as you describe, your samples reside on a separate drive, you should change the installation path of the Trombone to the drive/folder of your choice. The Folder "The Trombone", containing the instruments, the samples, and all the other necessary files, will be placed there.

    Please note:

    - if you move any of those files/folders afterwards, Kontakt will not be able to find them and you must navigate from scratch

    - if, for any reason, the instrument/library cannot be found by Kontakt, please use the "Add LIbrary" feature. (For more details see the Kontakt Manual).

    - Any detailed questions concerning Kontakt and the installation paths of the instruments will be answered by Native Instruments, since they provide the technical support - not only for Kontakt, but also for our Kontakt-based instruments.

    All the best

    Peter
