88.2...asio... et al

edited November 2010 in General Questions
I will be setting up my laptop (with help) this weekend.

I now have all the SampleModeling instruments! They will be loaded into Ableton Live to be played on stage, both individually & as a section.

Dual Core i5 2.5Ghz, 4G RAM

I have a Presonus Firepod interface. I have been unable to get a usable sound from any of the instruments at 88.2. My firepod has 88.2, but also doesn't have the option of setting a sample size. (the only option is ms latency) Does any one here use asio4all? Would this be preferable to the Firepod driver?

Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Mick,

Your question is intriguing, but I have no experience with the Prosonus driver. You may initially try to increase the latency (= buffer size) when working at 88 KHz.

I've been using Asio4all with good results. It may be worth a try.

Please consider, however that a SR of 88 KHz is only recommended for the saxophones, since the jitter issue is much less evident. Trumpet and Trombone work nicely at 44 KHz.

    Best regards,
