Trumpet Section - Phasing?

edited May 2008 in General Questions
Heya,

I'm trying to get two trumpets to play unison, but there seems to be a ton of phasing on sustained notes that I cant get rid of. Anyone know of a solution?

EDIT: Yes, i am using two separate Trumpets, Main +2 or Main +3.

Real trumpets will have a lot of phasing too if played in perfect unison. Make subtle pitch variations for each trumpet, and record distinctive CC11 for each instrument as well.

Yes, that´s exactly true. I´d like to add that it´s also important not to use "too perfect" timing. Try to differentiate the phrasing playing (or shaping) the trumpets slightly different and use different amount of ambience / reverb. It´s simply necessary to mimick 2 or 3 different players... :-)

Oh thats a good point. I had the exact same convolution on each instance of each trumpet. Will give this a try!
