Wishes for the Future

Hey All,

Classify this one under "for what it's worth"...

I'm a huge fan of SM and own the entire collection. I love the recent editions of solo strings! Now that there's pretty solid representation from each of the instrument groups, I just want to pass along to SM that if I could wish for one thing it would be: An updated version of the Woodwind sets.

I love the expressibility of each instrument, but I would love to see some new TLC given to the breath simulation. When compared to traditional sample libraries, the SM woodwinds lack detail in the breath - for instance, in the sound of the air-stream as it's being sliced across the mouthpiece of a flute.

Like I say, just a thought. I hope to see the great stuff keep coming. Cheers!

I know that this is a work around, but I modulate the "Style" parameter with the "Bite-force" of the TEC BBC for exactly this purpose.

This might be a rather crude way, but for the kind of music I do (non-classic) it works very well.

While we're wishing, I would LOVE an SM modeled Duduk someday. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duduk)
