A work in progress

edited May 2009 in User demos
Hi,

Thought I'd post this up as I've heard so many good demos up on this forum and I'd like to get up to that level...if possible.

This is really just an experiment and needs some proper mixing of course, but I'd love to hear any feedback on what you think would help get a better performance.

I'm going to be buying a breath controller soon as well - hoping that will make creating realistic trumpet phrases quicker and easier.

your tunes on your web site sounds great, almost the arrangements and the ideas : you're full of ideas ...

for great bass or double bass : use "ampeg" a vst/dx plugin for the bass line sound, and some of the best sampled bass sound i've found are on "sampletank" from IK multimedia or "fretted plugsound module" from ultimate soundbank.

the piano that you speak in your post, i've try it a few months ago, and finally i've buy "truepianos" but i don't use it : too flat ...

I prefere the piano from sampletank or "the grand" from steinberg. the boesendorfer from east/west is absolutly superb.

use a less as possible of effects and choose the effects by usual fonction : plate reverb for the trumpet, the sax, ao acoustic instruments.

room verb or studio verb for the overall final out ...

small delay to make sound more deep ...

i've used midi since 1984 ... pro24, cubase on atari ... pc, mac, pc ... but now i don't have the time for creation, i just play on back tracks alone on stage, ewi & keyboards, jazz guitare & percussions.

some of my post here are full live : my funny valentine, all blues.

human nature is made on nuendo with the minus editing as possible but there is less energy than the live.

    Bonjour zeppusclub,

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated - particularly coming from someone whose music I think is excellent (my favourite demo of yours that I've heard is 'All Blues', even though the others are great as well).

Is this the Ampeg plugin you were talking about?:

    imagefeatures

And is that what you used on the double bass in the All Blues demo? It sounds too clean for that - also, I assume the other instruments in All Blues are real (apart from The Trumpet of course)?

I've been thinking about getting the cheaper version of the new piano vstis by EWQL as I think they would work well with The Trumpet and Mr Sax.

    Good to hear your advice,

    Thanks,

    hi,

all blues is based on a jamey aebersold practice track that i use as back track after correction of the stereo field and correction of the placement of instruments.

this tracks are all played with real instruments and great musicians.
