Violin demo. Oblivion by Piazzola

edited December 2016 in User demos
Hello!

Here is a video demo where I'm playing "Oblivion" by Astor Piazzolla the new Violin using my midi keyboard. I'm using modwheel to control the dynamic and aftertouch for vibrato intensity.

The instrument is amazing! I can do whatever I would wont to do with the real violin and even more!

    Wouaou !

    I like very much this title but the only version i know was more snappy (Richard Galliano and Michel Portal)

    Yout version gave me "goosebumps" (if the translation is correct)

    Very nice playing.

    Absolutely great !!

    Realtime control is essential with these instruments. But I don't feel comfortable using wheels.

    With the Flute I do use the "Pitch Bend" Wheel

    Up -> Flutter Tong

    Down -> Growl.

    I can handle this decently, as it's not a "permanent" control, but just activating an Effect. For Expression and "Style" (for me: Blowing angle) I use the Breath and Bite controller.

    I just got a TEC BBCv2 today. I will try to assign these five realtime controls with the Cello :

    After Touch -> Vibrato depth

    Blowing strength -> Expression

    Bite -> Bow position

    Nod -> Pitch bend

    Head tilt sidewards -> Vibrato speed.

    I'll let you know how this works out.

    Awesome, thanks for sharing this, Deeper. This instrument definitely invites us to interact with it and you did a great job here. I appreciate seeing the resulting MIDI data stream, but even with eyes closed it was a wonderful performance.
