actually, for a very good big band sound you need not only expressive Trumpets and tenor saxophones, but also at least some alto saxes and trombones. But still, using our Trumpet and Mr. Sax, you can get excellent results. Did you listen to some demos using a section arrangements? You can also download our MIDI files (you can find them on the Trumpet demo page) to see how to shape the sound to make it realistic. Please note that The Trumpet plays exactly what you want - I mean if you just play with static controllers, a rather static sound will be created - exactly as a real player would sound. It´s very important to perform each instrument of a section individually and different from each other. Never use machine-like timing/sequencing for each instrument; instead, perform each track separately - as a real player would do. The more you differentiate the nuances like overall timing, pitch bending, portamento time and attacks (velocity), applying different, vivid dynamics (CC11) and different vibrato (intesity and frequency) - i.e. the more "human" they are - the better the results. You will wonder how huge sometimes these differences must be in order to create a realistic section sound.

Which brings me to the suggestion to create a second tenor sax slightly different to the original Mr. TSax for the purpose of duet or section playing. You have this concept with slightly different trumpets for "The Trumpet" so it would be nice if you could use the same approach for Mr. TSax.

But first we want altosaxes, barritonsaxes and sopranosaxes :)

A variation of the Tenor would be very cool for creating sections. Real time playing of individual tracks and EQ/processing helps for now. A single Bari sax would be alright but I'd like to see a couple Alto variations for section work as well. I'm still holding off on the beer & pizza Giorgio! ;)

I was also thinking about a second Tenor Sax, but after recording track after track with only one (Mr.Sax T), I found that it sounds surprisingly satisfying (following the advices Peter was giving). With future saxes (sopran, bariton, alto) it will be awesome.
