I bought mine half a year ago. It never decently worked for me. Finally TEC sent me what I think is one of the first pieces of the reworked series. Same is really great. The Bite Sensor now is not fragile any more and really is handled by your teeth with decent force. I understand that this is the only way to use such a device without needing a hand to keep it steady in your mouth. (And as I said before it is great fun to play a Double bass sample with your left hand and the Flute - or trumpet - with your right while controlling the sound with the BBC )
This is a lot easier to use than the first issue and up til now there was not a single glitch in the hardware.

Ooops. How did you do the various modulations that we hear ?

As for "virtual" versus "mechanical" it's obvious for a real trumpeter, there is no need to mention it specifically
I am not a trumpet player (nor a flute player or a sax player) and I am not able to recognize the difference without a directly comparable "real" instrument. It just sounds great when done in the way you have shown here.

Does that mean you used a Midi Editor to afterwards add modulation to the performance ?
Sorry if this is a silly question, but I never tried to craft any music by using editing tools, and have not the slightest idea how that might work.
Maybe the one I have is a prototype. They sent it to me because the one I had before failed due to moisture problems with the "bite" sensor.
The new one is great.
Obviously improved moisture protection for the electronics: I had no such problems any more.
Moreover it comes with a solid (white) 3-D printed tube that can be pushed on the muzzle instead of the silicon hose and allows you to use your teeth instead of lip pressure.

Thanks. I contacted TEControl and they confirmed that you have a prototype.

And I can confirm that it is great !
It works flowlessly and the Bite feeling with the 3D printed pipe is great.
Here they succeed to find a balance between a loose grip that would result in a better manageable control, but would increase the risk of allowing the muzzle to leave your mouth and a firm grip guaranteeing a steady position.

Great stuff !!
While the piece is not the kind of music I especially like, the "Flugelhorn" solo sound and performance is fantastic to me.
Did you use the TEC BBC for live playing it ? What performance parameters did you use for this on the Trumpet ?
Is there a reason why it's not stated on the wikiloops site that the trumpet is not a mechanical one ?
BTW: Do you already have the new BBC with the white "bite cover" ?

I really like the performance of the Trumpet solo.
Question again:
Did you use the TEC to play this ?

Thank you.
There are many things to learn about Trumpet 3 left.
I bought TEC controller a year ago, settings are attached.
I don't think I used bite controller in those pieces though.

Cheers!

Can you now bite on the TEControl BBC with your teeth? Their website still says that you can't do that.

I'll conclude this thread with Trumpet imitation of a singer I did in January.
Here is the latest mix -
imitating Grathy
But I feel the singer imitates your trumpet, not vice-versa
