Akai EWI USB compatibility

edited January 2009 in Windcontrollers
Hey all. I'm new to this but I've been playing the Akai EWI 4000s and the new USB version. I generally use the sounds that come with the hardware with the exception of the soundbanks in my Yamaha VL-70. I came across this product recently and was wondering if I can use these as a stand-alone like my Aria software that came with my USB EWI? Plug and Play or more involved?

Thanks

Glenn

  • Hi Glenn,

Yes, you can use either The Trumpet or Mr. Sax T. as standalone. They are supplied with the Kontakt Player, and no additional software is needed. The midi data output by your windcontroller should be routed to the midi input of the Player, that's all.

    Best,

Thank you. I bought MR Sax and love the sound. As daunting as the interface looked initially with all the setting options, it really isn't that bad once you calm down and just do it.

I understand that you're considering a Transpose key? Not being a sax player, I'd rather play than think.

Thanks again and great job on the product.
