My first try at using The Trumpet

Giorgio & Peter,

Thank you for this amazing instrument. I'm still getting up to speed but I'm thrilled with the results so far. I must say, when I play "The Trumpet" I can actually smell the brass!

Here's what I conjured up in my first attempt to be a flugelhorn player.

This is what music is all about for me. FUN!

Keep up the great work! I'm looking forward to "The Saxophone" and "The Trombone".

I thing Barry did a very nice job, especially considering he got The Flugelhorn just a few days ago. Bravo!

    Greetings,

Thanks for the kind words. Much appreciated.

Thanks to great software like "The Trumpet," and Uwe Leizow's incredible drum VI "Mixosaurus," I have been firmly and blissfully relegated to my personal role as (by far) the weakest part of the signal chain.

Here's another tune you may or may not find to be a useful reference.

    STOLEN MOMENTS - Oliver Nelson

I'm still hooked on the flügelhorn, but this time I used a pair. This track is down and dirty. One or two passes on each instrument and no post programming on the trumpet tracks.

Most of my time went into the drum programming (which isn't completed yet and may never be.) The Daw & tools are MAC G5 2gz/8gb, Logic Studio, The Trumpet, Mixosaurus drums, EXS24 Upright bass, MOtif7 & Kurzweil PC1x.

The lead flugelhorn instance has a UAD Helios 69 EQ with +2db@100hz/+4db@1khz/+6db@10k.

The second fluglehorn instance is untouched.

The output buss has a UAD Pultec Pro in idle state and UAD Precision limiter for final levels.

Mostly I want to mention how much fun it was recording this track. Thanks again for the awesome software!

    cheers

Wow - you obviously know how to play jazz piano or a trumpet quite well to do this. Impressive!
