Hi folks!
I just purchased/installed The Trumpet and I'm anxious to try it out. I'll be using the software on my iMac with with either the Kontakt 2 player or GarageBand, controlling it with my Yamaha WX-5 wind controller.
I've seen lots of postings noting how well the wind controller works with The Trumpet, but I'm looking for an exceedingly dumbed down FAQ to tell me how to get from here (installed software) to there (playing with my wind controller). Can someone point me to some simplified instructions?
The manual speaks to doing something with CCs, but I'm not clear what those are, or what I'm exactly supposed to do with them. Yep... newbie!
Regards,
Pat

The correct mapping of the CCs (controller data) is automatically taken care of by the Kontakt player.
I'm not familiar with other controllers, but I suppose the procedure is very similar.
Interface "CoreAudio"
Sample Rate: 96000
Output device: Built-in Output
Midi input interface: Yamaha UX16 Port 1 ON
Midi output interface: Yamaha UX16 Port 1 ON
Back to the main screen:
On the left hand libraries section, on the "the trumpet" tile, I selected Instruments and clicked, moving my mouse to "main trumpet" and clicking again. That brought up the main trumpet in the right side of the screen. There's a tile there now with a picture of a trumpet, labeled "MAIN TRUMPET". At the right lower region of the tile there's a button that you can click and move down to select "wind controller". Once you select "wind controller" you get a new button to the left and up from the old button, labeled "use wind controller". Click that button and it turns yellow. Blow into the instrument once and you clear the "set CC11" warning on the left side of tile. After you do that, you're rocking!
My compliments to the programmers! I've got some training to do to get used to the nuances of playing, but this is the most amazingly realistic instrument I've ever played with the WX-5. It certainly makes me want to throw rocks at my VL 70-m! Wonderful legatos, great sensitivity, though I've got to get used to leading it through fast parts.
One other tip for the WX-5... just so you don't have to keep a finger on that @#%! octave button for on-staff notes, you can octave transpose (page 21 of the manual).
Enough typing... back to playing!
