how do I get around needing to always input cc11 on loading a project?

Every time I load up my project in ableton, or reaper, every kontakt instance of SM demands cc11 input... Is the only work around to have cc11 automated and press play?

  • If you press play on a decently prepared midi file the message box shouid automatically vanish.

  • Ok cool, I didn't see this behavior working in ableton but in reaper it does. I had to actually automate movement of cc11 in ableton, the value alone wasn't enough to make it go away.

I have to say it's a pretty harsh limitation to render the instrument completely mute - why not just default it to the midpoint?

  • I have no idea about Ableton.

Not doing "wild" movements of the expression CC (usually either 2 or 11) completely denies the purpose of this kind of instruments.

  • I'm not really sure what you mean by wild? At any rate, all I'm saying was in Ableton I had to draw an instantaneous change from 0 to 64 in Ableton on the first beat, as static automation wasn't enabling the plugin.
