  actually it´s a complex question. There are plenty of books dedicated generally to the topic of jazz arrangement. Knowing how to arrange a brass section is extremely important, otherwise the results are not so convincing...
  
  As far as The Trumpet is concerned, it´s important to follow just a few rules:
  
  1. Play each line / voice as a trumpet player would do. That is: try to articulate it as individually as possible (differentiate the intonation, timing, transitions/portamento, and even the dynamics);
  
  2. Never control two or more trumpets using the same source (keyboard, MIDI track) at the same time. Although each Trumpet instance will sound slightly different, the differences are two small to sound like two different player playing in a section;
  
  3. Play the tracks manually, if possible, to ensure slightly different, "human" timing;
  
  4. Allow as many random elements in the articulation as possible.
  
  5. Don´t be afraid of any small imperfections;
  
  6. Pan the trumpets in different positions and use somehow different ambience/early reflections.
  
  And, of course, use different trumpets (Main Trumpet, Trumpet 2 & 3)

  i'll try this
