Horn and Sax Sections

edited January 2014 in General Questions
Did I miss something ... I can't seem to find any way to play horn or sax sections or polyphonic sounds for that matter?

I know I heard a demo playing Tower of Power horn sections :)

You have to play parts in, one at a time. There is no poly-mode in Sample Modeling instruments.

Of course it's much more convenient to be able to hear the result when creating the score.

Is it not possible to run multiple instances of SWAM at the same time (provided sufficient CPU power of the system) ?

AFAIK, some DAWs (or add-ons) can use slave PCs as rendering engines via Ethernet or digital audio streams.

I usually freeze tracks myself...I was only saying there is no poly-mode within a single instance of SWAM or the Kontakt SM instruments. Some of the Kontakt SM instruments do offer a "Unison mode" :)

Using multiple PC as "remote" rendering engines (connected e.g. via Ethernet) might be impossible due to copy protection and/or contradict the wording of the SWAM user license, even though I believe this is not really intended.

I know there are a few polyphonic legato scripts for kontakt that are free, and they work alright, also Orange Tree Samples is working on a script called "intuition" that will provide the same functionality but hopefully more stably. Anyone know if there is a way to play midi into a kontakt multiscript (like a poly legato script) and have kontakt send the output into the outside world (for example, into other kontakt instances or SWAM instances)?

For the Kontakt SM instruments, you could just put all of them into a single kontakt instance and use a poly legato script, but I think (but am not sure) they use up much more power that way. It's best each instrument is in it's own kontakt instance.

AFAIK, Kontakt provides a midi output, that can be fed by a script. Supposedly you need to do your own script that uses that feature.
