Back Porch Blues-SWAM Soprano Sax, The Trumpet, The Trombone

Hi all,

Here's an improvised blues that uses the following Sample Modeling instruments: SWAM Soprano Sax, The Trumpet, and The Trombone. The rest of the instruments came from Kontakt Komplete 10. Controllers used: Akai EWI-USB, Korg MicroKEY 37, TEC Breath Controller, Moog Expression Foot Pedal. I still feel very much a novice in terms of digital sound production and recording, so any and all feedback is welcome.

  • I think you really nailed the soprano it sounds very realistic and expressive.

The trombone on the other hand sound like it's straining considerably and has a rather shrill sound due to this, you may want to vary the expression there.

The trumpet sounds alright even tough a little too discreet.

Thanks for sharing. I recommend to play the instruments with lowerer breath pressure as then sound more realistic and expressive on low and medium levels.
  • Thanks for the tip, Kobir!
