Hi guys !

I just wanted to share a short jazz piece that i wrote recently.







As always, everything that can be sample modeling is sample modeling (complete sax section + clar and bass clar).



I didn't use any brass in order to keep it relatively small, and then i tried to make this small section sound as big as possible, without any mixing cheats ^^.



Mixed with VSL MIR PRO.

    I don't know if you were trying for a particular "room" sound but this sounds like a very convincing large, wood rehearsal room to my old ears! Nice playing and writing! :D

    Actually, VSL MIR PRO did everything for me ^^. I know that it's a studio and not a concert hall, but I don't remember which one... I think it's the Weiler Studio, and it adds indeed a really "wooden" quality to the sound. So, your old ears might not be that old after all ^^.

    MIR PRO is so easy to use, without almost any mixing skills, and works wonderfully well with samplemodeling anechoic instruments. It's not complicated : the drier, the better.



    But the playing and writing is still on me, so thanks ^^.

    You've got some wonderful music on your soundcloud site. Did you compose all of the pieces? Some great stuff.

    Really nicely done. I especially liked the changes near the end. The reverb really matches the style of the music well but I would be curious how this piece would sound like in a much closer miked situation. With less room sound.
