Vienna Ensemble / Sample Modeling Isuue
Hi.
I'm having a problem using vienna ensemble pro 5 to link 2 computer and some Sample modeling instrument (Mainly the trumpets under kontakt in fact.
Often, when i'm stoping the playback on protools (mac) some of the trumpets actually playing on the pc are blocked on the note they were playing at the moment i stopped the playback. As if they didn't receive the "note off" message that protools send to all midi channel when playback is stopped.
And everytime i have to go in the PC setups and click on panic. to stop the sound....
is anyone else having that issue ?

Are you sure the note-off is sent ? Maybe you could do some monitoring to check where the message is lost, exactly. I agree that the problem seems to come from Kontakt and samplemodeling, but it's better to be sure.
Do you use the same and latest version of vienna ensemble pro on your 2 computers ?
what you could try is the following suggestion, that you can find in the Trumpet manual. It was originally addressed to Sonar users, but it might apply to your case as well:
"Tip: Sonar users might experience hanging notes upon stopping the playback. This is due to the fact that Sonar sends an “All-Notes-Off” command when the Stop button is pressed. The problem can be easily solved by checking the box “Accept all notes off/ all sounds off” under “Instrument Options -> Controller”.

damn you know how to talk to consumers !!! i was close to go under expensive psychoanalyze after nearly 1 year hearing day after day that sound of trumpet that didn't wanna stop !!!
I saved a lot of money thanks to you !!! and more money means..... that i'm now waiting for your next release !!!! eheheheh
Anyway thx for your advice, i have try this this morning and no note stayed on up to now.
