My first contribution : short piece for big band

edited November 2012 in User demos
Hi,

Here is a short piece for a Big Band. It has a somewhat easy listening jazz feeling.

I used The Trumpet and The Trombone for the brass section and recorded them with an EWI USB. Saxophones are real ones (and played by myself : sorry if they are a bit loose here and there). Drums are from Native Instruments Session Drummer. Double Bass is from Trilogy.

Here is it : http://public.michaelgoldberg.fr/bigband_01.mp3

I hope you'll enjoy it :)

Excellent! You achieved a very nice blend and stereo image with your mixed brass section. My wife plays Tenor & Alto...I'll have to try for a blend like yours! :) -Perry-

    Thank you very much :)

The stereo image wasn't really difficult to get thanks to the new VSL MIR plugin (demo version unfortunately), which is outstanding in my opinion. SM instruments + VSL MIR combination just blows out anything else.

As for the saxes, I did everything with my alto (the only sax I own) which explains chords are somewhat closed throughout the piece of music.
