KS with pedals and DAWs... Help needed

I am new to the FORUM and also to Sample Modeling.
I have my Mr. Trumpet for quite a while now but have never really used until I purchased my new EWI 4000s. Now I also have The Trombone.
I am still playing with it in order to get a realistic sound out of it. But I know it can be done since I have heard many samples of music played with the EWi and sample Modeling instruments. I know I have to play with the settings in order to get a realistic sound. I think it would be a good idea to have some written instructions, a written guide on "How to Set up your EWi and Sample Modeling instrument". I would pay for something like that.
Anyway, my question: I am VERY, very much interested in the KS effects. I am not really sure how to use these switches with a wind controller. Has any user been able to use the KS with a wind controller? (I guess you have to press one of the KS just before you keep playing your notes - but sometimes you cannot just stop to press a key that is not in your music sheet).
One more question. Since searching for this, I have realized that using a pedal would be a good idea. Now, usually a pedal will only allow you to press one of those KS at a time... so, having TWO notes at the same time seems like out of the question. Any ideas about this? Could a pedal like the Rolland PK6 be used to control the KS?
And FINALLY (yes, finally, I promise): :oops: Could I control the KS with a DAW? What I mean is, in our presentations we play most of our instruments live; HOWEVER, we also have some other instruments playing along with us by a MIDI sequencer Sonar X1 (like for example - this is all Latin music - a CLAVE to help us stay in rhythm and time). Since the DAW is already running with us @ tempo.. could I use it to control the KS ? :idea: This could be a nice solution to us since we do not do a lot of improv (actually... none at all).

yes, a player used to play wind instruments and Wind Controllers (like EWI) will easily and intuitively achieve very good, realistic results. The advantage is that a Wind Controler sends a set of controller data which corresponds very close to the nature of a wind instrument - like dynamics controlled by the air pressure, pitch by the lip or tooth tension etc.
I absolutely agree that the Keyswitches are very useful. Although a WC player can imitate most of the KS articulations by simply playing them "manually", some of them (like wah-wah, for example) can be accessed by a Keyswitch only. In order to get the full advantage of the Keyswitches, a foot controller or a foot keyboard would probably do the best job. For the Second Level keyswitches one needs either some clever midi transformation, enabling the activation of two keys (upper C of the KS range plus the second level KS) with one foot key only, or another way of "playing" and holding the upper C, while switching the KS with the foot keyboard.
But fortunately you have a sequencer! :-)
Yes, a sequencer running in sync can be perfectly used for this task. You can pre-programm the notes corresponding to the Keyswitch you need, and the desired effect will be always activated at the given spot. This is - at least in your case - the easiest solution.
