Wah-wah controled by key velocity
Hi erevyone !
I was wondering : Is it possible to control the wah wah effect with the keyswitch velocity rather than with a latch mode, since, when working "not live", the latch is sort of a "relative" instruction, which can quickly be annoying (if I have an uneven number of keyswitches, my loop playback inverts the wah wah mutes each time). I would prefer choose if i want it or not, rather than switching.
Another thing I was wondering is, on the trombone, the "poo-wah" effect. Since the dynamics is "mixed" with the position of the plunger, i don't manage to have some soft yet really staccato attacks, even with maximum velocity and velocity to dynamics to 127.
But maybe i'm doing something wrong here.
Anyway, great products. The best on the market. But if you could make them even better, they would be even "more best" !
And I KNOW you want your products to be "more best" !

the "latch" mode was introduced upon request of several customers, complaining that real time playing was incompatible with the standard KS mode.
As you point up, even this solution has limitations, though. A selectable mode approach would be better.
A possible solution might be the following:
1) when hit with velocity up to a certain threshold, the wah-wah KS would work in standard mode, i.e. the effect persists until the KS is held down.
2) higher velocities would activate the latch mode, persisting until the KS is hit again.
What do you think? Any alternative proposal, or criticism?
Thanks in advance,
Giorgio & Peter.
After all, when you using it live, you only want latch mode, and in a studio, you only want a KSVelocity controlled mode (or anything "stable"). So no need to switch once you've chosen what you want.
I think that would be the easiest way, since the mode would clearly appear in Kontakt.
But as long as there is a way to change it, i'm okay with it. I'll learn how to use it, and it'll be good ^^.
