Saving Settings

edited December 2010 in General Questions
Is it necessary/desirable to save settings when an instrument's parameters are changed? I tried to find the info in the manuals & must have missed it! (If so... how is it done?)

Thanks in advance.

    Of course :)

Depending of the music you play, sometime you need soft sax, sometime you need angry sax (or trumpet, ....) so it's better if you save your different setting with different name (ex : sotf Mr T, Hard Mr B, ...)

You can also include the effects setting.

Personaly i prefer to save the effects setting alone, like this i can use it with other instruments.

Hope that this answers your question.

What I'm really asking is HOW you save a patch.

I can't seem to find it.

ok i only answer to your first question.

So to do it is a little bit strange.

1/ You click on Files > save as...

2/ At the right the name of your actual patch will be displayed so you will be afraid to overwrite your original patch with your new setting and i can understand this but this is a ergonomics problem related to Kontakt interface

3/ Click on this name and a new window will open.

4/ Change the name and press save and Rock & Roll.
