actually, this is something for Native Instruments technical support...
I am pretty sure that you are using an older Trumpet version. Which is it? Please note that only the latest version - 2.52 - is working optimally with Kontakt 4.
If you don´t have it installed, please open your Service Center and go to the Update tab to download the last version.
If your problem appeared on v. 2.52, it means that you changed the library (or Kontakt 4) folder structure. Please try to remove the library (using the "remove" button in the Kontakt browser) and add it again (using the "Add Library" button).
If the above does not help (what I do not think :-)), please contact Native Instrument´s support.
Hey Peter, thanks for the response, I'll check it.
What happened was I bought a new computer but kept the original sample drive the library was installed on and reinstalled the software from the original download file.
Maybe that is where things went wonky, I'll try reinstalling the full library from scratch and see if it likes that better.
So, I have The Trumpet 2.52 running in Kontakt 4.1 and I can't seem to get it to operate properly on any midi channel other than [a]1.
Attempts to use any other midi channel result in non-responsive midi controller data with seemingly random settings for all CCs (resulting in odd artifactish growl and garble).
Any thoughts?
I'm going to try reverting to Kontakt 4 from Kontakt 4.1 to see if that matters.
EDIT: by the way, only experiencing this with The Trumpet.
this is clearly a case for the technical support which, as you know, is provided by Native Instruments. Without knowing anything detailed about your system I can only recommend the Kontakt engine reset by clicking on the "!" icon. It seems to be a Kontakt bug - I will report it to Native Instruments asap.
