Attack Settings have no effect

edited July 2009 in General Questions
I don't know why I didn't ask this before but there seems to be no change when the settings Enhanced attack hard , soft attack is set. I have had some effect in the past when I briefly set my Synthophone to send Velocity.

It's not a real big issue with me but I wonder why those settings as well as others have no effect in breath control mode.

    Hi Bob,

The difference is more audible during High Dynamics (eg. High Velocity - Keyboard Mode)

    Best :)

    Hello Stefano,

    Thanks for the reply.

In a future revised manual it might be helpful if parameter settings not applicable to windcontroller players were described as such.

Congratulations on producing two more fantastic instruments. What an accomplishment.

Cheers to you and all at Sample Modeling!

Maybe its just in my mind, but I find a difference between the enhanced and soft attacks and find it crucial to have a soft attack on fast, tongued passages.

    Hi Pete,

The differences among the four presets are not so big, but very useful to adapt the instrument to different music styles and the way of playing.

The instrument has two types of attacks styles (Enhanced vs Smooth)

and two types of Dynamic response (Soft vs Hard)

Enhance Attack preset is more "percussive" than the Smooth one, (indicated for example for Funk music).

The Hard Attack preset has more dynamic response to MIDI Velocity than the Soft ones. Soft vs Hard have effect only on Keyboard and WindContr mode. (Please check that your WindController not send a fixed Velocity value).

So... Everyone can choose his preferred preset. ;)

    Best :)

Sorry I was working from memory and mean't Smooth not soft (There isn't actually a soft vs enhanced  ). Ie a difference between smooth and enhanced.

Am I right in thinking there is a subtle difference between smooth and enhanced on Windcontroller 1 ? My windcontroller is set correctly ;).

It appears there is a difference from what you say, but just to confirm I have read correctly.

    Regards Pete.
