I tried shifting the range of the alto down . I noticed by default it is set to 12 in CC remapping. This works but the key range can't be changed.
Hi Bob, I assume we want the same thing, setting Mr sax A 10 up 2 down for tenor/soprano and 3 up for Alto etc?
If thats not what you want sorry, however, I am using the "transpose" function in "Midi cc remapping" for the above with no problem!!!
Yes "Windcontroller 1" I have just set it at 12 and clicked and blown, and it can go 2 octaves!!
I understand how to shift the octaves , it is the loss of keys I am concerned with. There is a key range function within Kontakt if you click the little gear icon. The range did not have any effect.
I did discover that if I set my Synthophone to play in Eb , and lower the octave to 0 in CC remapping that I can play down to a low Bb. It just would be nice if that could happen if the key was C , or Bb as well.
Please note that the range can't be changed by the user, since the instrument is sample-based, and the lowest sample is indeed C#2. (it was already extended by us to one semitone lower : C2)
Conversely, the user can modify the KEY (rather than the pitch) transposition of the instrument (like a key remapper).
The limit as you have described it makes sense. In my caseit is not a problem since I transpose my Synthophone to Eb which is the native key to an Alto sax. Now I have keys available all the way done to Bb.

Are you using windcontroller mode?
I am using Breath controller mode and cannot get the midi remapping functions to do anything.
I would like to occasionally transpose to Eb-Bb up or down, but I would also like to be able to shift the octave down 1 .

Remember it won't increase or change the instruments range.

I don't understand why low Bb and B are lost after changing transpose to 0 from 12 in CC remapping.
In Windcontroller mode are you also able to change the attack settings with good results?

I can only use Soft attack hard, I find the difference although subtle very different to the enhanced attacks.

The lowest note of an Alto Sax is C# (138.6Hz).
