It sounds like The Trumpet is istalled OK, however the software will not work without an expression pedal that puts out CC11. I use a WX5 wind controller and when I first load The Trumpet without CC Mapping Breath Control CC2 to CC11 I get the same extemely low volume. Your keyboard foot pedal may default to Volume control CC7. This can also be mapped to CC11 in The Trumpets GUI.

    Hi Giorgio,

i have the same problem here, just installed The Trumpet and the sound is very low.

I have an expression pedal (Roland EV-5), but my masterkeyboard (Doepfer LMK1+) doesn't have an input for expression, only one for sustain and one for volume.

When i connect the EV-5 with the volume input of the Doepfer, there doesn't seem to happen anything, no reaction in my sequencer when recording some notes...

    What can i do?

I just applied the CC remapping from CC11 to CC7, this helped the volume coming up and now i can hear the trumpet.

Anyways, is there a way how i could use my EV-5 expression pedal through my volume input at my masterkeyboard? Or do i have to buy a new masterkeyboard? Don't hope so...

    stk,

If your expression pedal is now mapped to CC7 -> C11, everything should work properly. Don't forget to set: Instrument options -> Controllers -> Accept standard comtrollers for volume and pan -> [checked], and you're done. CC7 (volume) will now control C11.

    Best,

    Thanks for your reply Giorgio,

unfortunately it is not working. :(

I guess the problem is that the expression pedal is not working with the volume pedal input of my masterkeyboard. Is this possible? I mean, can it be, that an expression pedal is not working in a volume pedal input.

Actually i don't know about the technical differences of those two kinds of pedals...but i really don't want to buy a new masterkeyboard, so i would be glad if somebody could give advice to me how i can fix it...

    Cheers,

    Stefan,

    Some misunderstanding here.

You should use your volume pedal, connected to the volume socket of your keyboard.

Load the instrument, and open the Instrument Options panel by clicking on the gears. Set: Instrument Options -> controllers -> accept standard controllers for volume and pan -> [checked].

Close the panel, click on the "Main view" button, open the drop down menu and choose "CC remapping". Set "controller to use for CC#11 to CC#7.

Since then, your volume pedal will control CC#11, and the instrument will work normally. This will be confirmed by the disappearance of the warning: "CC11 not received yet".

    Best,

    Hi Giorgio,

i bought this EV-5 pedal yesterday, because the description said that with some devices it can be used as expression AND/OR volume pedal. Obviously this is not the case with my masterkeyboard. I think i will exchange it and get a real volume pedal next week. Then i will try your proposal.

    Thanks so far!

    Stefan
