License no longer working

Hi

I purchased and installed The Trumpet a couple of weeks ago, and today when I try and load it, I get an error in Kontaikt 3 telling me the library is unlicensed (or words to that effect). When I go to NI's Service Centre, the Trumpet does not appear anywhere.

Please can you advise how I can get this working again. It's a great product, and I have to try and complete a mix with it within hte next couple of days.

Many thanks for your help.

Jules

    Hi Jules,

thank you for purchasing The Trumpet - we are sure you will enjoy it very much.

Please note that we always strongly recommend to read the manuals to avoid such unpleasant surprises...

The Player indicates in the browser (showing "!") that the instrument is not registered (authorised) and is working in a kind of demo mode. It´s also stated in the manual, that the user have as many as 14 days to register.

Of course this is not the reason for your problem with the Control Center. However, as explained in the documentation, the technical support is maintained by Native Instruments. That´s because the engine itself - thus the Kontakt Player - is licenced and authorised by them. We do not have any suitable data banks and staff necessary for supporting the Player and the installation issues.

Please use the convenient INFO button on the Player to quikly get to the support line, or use the address:

    http://www.nativeinstruments.com/support.info

You can also call the Native Instruments hotline, if possible - please refer to the information available on the Native Instruments homepage.

By the way - please note that there is no need to use Kontakt 3. The Trumpet is optimized for the Kontakt Player 2 as far as the CPU load is concerned. Kontakt 3 offers in this case no advantage. Important: as mentioned in the documentation, if one wants to use The Trumpet in the Kontakt 3, it´s absolutely essential to use the Kontakt 3 versions which can be found in the appropriate folder. Never use K2 version in the K3 sampler! If you do, you get compromised sound.

Please let us know if you experience any further problems.

We would like to kindly ask you to use our mailing system rather than the Forum. Our Forum is meant to be used for some experience exchange and criticism concerning our instruments. Individual problems could be better solved via e-mail, as they do not concern a larger group of interested users.

If you have any further questions, please don´t hasitate to contact us.

    Best regards

May i ask if this is to understand a possibility to get a demo version ? If so, i've missed it on the internet site or didn't understand where and how to DL. If not, can I hope from the developers of this trumpet to "touch the dream as reality" in a few weeks ? :P And if so, thank a lot in advance !
  • Zenasium,

Unfortunately, since this product is a NI Kontakt Player VI, we cannot offer a working demo.

One needs to rely on the many demos made by beta testers and customers, to judge about sound quality and playability. :)

    Trailerman,

Native Instruments will CERTAINLY solve the problem - it´s their job! :-)

We are not aware of a a single user who could eventually not register.

However - since our (many) customers didn´t report any registration problems so far - let´s make sure you did the right steps:

    - did you perform the installation exactly as described in the documentation?

    - after log-in in the Service Center, you see the update manager. On this page, you won´t see The Trumpet, because there is nothing to update

    - It´s necessary to continue to the next page (make sure you´ve deactivated all possible checkboxes)

    - on the next page choose the first option - something like "Online activation assistent"; after that you should see The Trumpet

Are you using a Mac? If you still experience problems - did you already try to trash the preferences?

Too bad we have a weekend now, but, since Native Instruments provide the technical support, please have a look at their FAQ page - I hope you´ll find a remedy pretty quickly.

    Hi Julia

The situation is that The Trumpet does not appear in Service Centre at all. I suspect it is a Service Centre issue, as I installed another Kontakt Player driven instrument shortly after yours, and perhaps the associated SC version did not include the Trumpet.

I will reinstall on Monday when I'm back in the studio and hopefully this will resolve the issue.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Trailerman,

unfortunately you still didn´t write, whether you work with a PC or, Mac, whether you have the most recent SC version, etc. I spoke to the Native Instruments in Berlin. That´s what they said:

    1. You are requested to contact NI directly (e-mail, phone);

    2. Probably you have an older version of the Service Center; in this case it cannot recognise The Trumpet

    3. There are some other reasons for possible registration problems; however NI needs some further informations.

If you re-install The Trumpet and let the installer download the latest version of the Service Center, everything should work fine. If not, please contact them as soon as possible.

    Hi Julia

I contacted NI last Friday, and raised a support ticket. I hope to hear back from them soon.

I'm on Mac Pro, and I agree it is most likely a Service Centre issue. I'll download the latest version and retry today.

    Dear users,

we asked Treilerman once again and got the answer that after a new installation the registration worked without any problems.

After consulting Native Instruments the issue seems to be quite clear:

Only the newest Service Center versions "know" The Trumpet and can register it. If you try to register using the SC already installed on your computer, the registration will fail, as the older version cannot "know" The Trumpet.

Please always allow the installation of the Service Center while installing The Trumpet and updating it to the newest version.

    All the best
