Curious about the "other" trumpets

edited January 2009 in General Questions
I'm really loving the trumpet and Mr. T. Amazing stuff!

I'm curious about the other trumpets - the flugel, cornet, etc.

Are they actually samples of totally different instruments, or are they all differently processed versions of the main trumpet? The differences between main, 2 and 3 are extremely subtle - character sounds very much the same.

Just curious.

Great work!!

  • LHall,

The idea behind all our instruments is to work with the "input sound", similarly to the physical model approach, but sample-based.

Trumpets #2 and #3 may appear very similar to the main trumpet. But the output sound, even if driven by the same midi source, is far from identical. This allows to create trumpet ensembles, free from phasing artifacts even when played in unison.
