Another foolish question...
I just purchased Mr. Sax and Mr. Trumpet. (Haven't tried Trumpet yet - this is only sax so far...)
I have an EWI4000s with a Roland XV-5050 + patchman. I run Logic 8 on a Mac G5 dual CPU box w/1Gb of memory. I have numerous other instruments like Addictive Drums which run okay.
I was able to load and get Mr. Sax working as both standalone and as an instrument in Logic.
Everything is fine until I play a note at the beginning of the third octave (starting with F). Then I get growling and a really bad (sour) sound (the note is F but it just sounds bad at least compared to the roland and patchman). Same for both EWI and keyboard. The notes below F sound great - just like the various demos, etc.
Is there some roll-over on that note? Is this the G5?
There is other weirdness - Kontakt seems to "not start" until I play a bunch of notes - then it works fine and follows along accurately. Same behavior as plug-in and standalone.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Todd

Did you set the sample rate of your card or of your project (depending if you use it as standalone or in logic) with the same value than Mr Sax T in the GUI ?
Regards
I will try a load it into my Intelmac at work later today - I have garageband there and test it out.
If I set the SR up to 88.2 - I get the same problem I had on the G5. So it seems like the problem is the Sample Rate setting.
On the G5 I have a MOTU 828 running at 44.1K.
On the InteMac I am just using the internal audio output.
I guess I will have to try the G5 at SR 44.1K.
Any thoughts on why 88.2 is not working?? Do I need to set the Motu to 88.2K as well? Its not clear from the docs on this...
Thanks

cant solve your problem, but ive got a question.
Could you please let me know how the Trumpet sounds compares to the xv5050 patchman trumpet.. patch 36.
i really like that patch.. it plays great and smooth and the sound is very nice.
The Trumpet must sound better, but does it play as nice as the patchman patch?
thanks
please set both Mr. Sax T. and the audio card to the same sample rate.
Best,

I think my confusion was that in various places the documentaton says to set the SR to 88.2K for best sound but elsewhere it says to match the card and the SR .
Since my sound card does not support 88.2K I thought I still *had* to set the Mr. Sax to 88.2K.
I will confirm later on the G5 but it works on my MacBook Pro.
Thanks for you quick responses and sorry to be so thick...

So, as I supposed, the problem was indeed due to a difference of setting between the sound card and Mr. T Sax
You did not follow this rule : "read 7 times the answer before posting another time" :?
Enjoy with your new friend
I was led astray by thinking about the "better quality" sample rate over the actual instructions.
It works great... Now for some fun.
Thanks
