I can't set it to be quiet with expression (CC2) = 0.

I use "Breath Controller" mode and the expression dial happily follws my blowing (TEC BBCv2) showing the full range 0 .. 127. And the expression of the sound increases nicely from the minimum to the maximum. The problem is that the minimum is not zero but something like 10% of the max. Of course this is not decently playable for a breath controller player :( .

Expression mapping is not active.

This happens as well with "Tenor Trombone 1" as with "Bass Trombone".

I use many other Sample Modeling instruments such as Trumpet 3, Tuba, ... and none of those shows this behavior.

What am I doing wrong ?

These instrument load nicely into Kontakt (not the free player), but the full version. You get instruments pre-set for EWI or other windcontrollers, as well as ones pre-set for Keyboards.

The price for the Pack is $174, which may sound high, but if you divide by the number of instruments that you get the price is reasonable.

I immediately got fantastic sound from the Shawm, Harmonicas, and Accordions. At one point the Duduk played great, but on another occasion it did not sound good, so I need to adjust the parameters.

The Harmonicas, there are a number of versions, are far better than the VG Harmonica. Once I get the Duduk working better I will upload an example.

The Ancient Flutes pack also sounds really nice and I may purchase that some time in the future.

It has far superior LCD display than any prior models which shows actual words rather than cryptic abbreviations, as well as a rechargeable lithium battery, USB connection, and a built in speaker. Of course the speaker is of not much use unless you want to listen to the built in sounds which are not nearly as good as those of the Roland Aerophone AE-10.

Unlike those of us on this forum, Carlos, is not interested in sounds that emulate those of acoustic intruments, but nevertheless he does a good job of introducing the Akai Pro EWI Solo.
